VP, Reward Consulting, Support Functions (APAC) - 8 Month Contract

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is recruiting a Vice President, Reward Consulting, Support Functions (APAC) for an 8-month contract. The role supports the delivery of performance and reward advisory services for designated businesses and functions, partnering with senior business leaders, HR Business Partners and Reward colleagues on remuneration, performance management and annual review matters. It works closely with the MGS, GPRB and GHR teams in a global, matrixed and regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support performance and reward strategies and processes so that advice and outputs align with organisational objectives, market competitiveness, governance standards and regulatory requirements.
• Act as a trusted adviser to senior business leaders, HR Business Partners and GPRB colleagues, giving advice and constructive challenge on remuneration, performance management, talent and workforce matters.
• Partner with the Global Program Delivery team on market benchmarking, reward analysis, fixed and variable pay funding, year-end pay review, onboarding, hiring, off-cycle pay adjustments and target bonus.
• Support annual compensation and performance cycles, including calibration, pay review, bonus allocation and performance assessment.
• Prepare and review reward analysis, market data, pay proposals, funding inputs, committee materials, management information and stakeholder packs.
• Deliver market intelligence and benchmarking analysis to support reward decisions and workforce planning.
• Review reward packages against local regulation, internal policy, market practice, internal equity and affordability, escalating complex cases.
• Contribute to Reward agendas for governance forums such as annual review, global bonus funding and target bonus committees.
• Advise on remuneration regulation, governance and risk-aligned pay practices, and identify emerging reward, performance and workforce risks.
• Partner with specialist PRB colleagues and contribute to process improvements, controls, data quality and change initiatives.
• Lead and contribute to GPRB / GHR projects and initiatives.

Required profile

• At least 7 years of experience in banking or financial institutions, with at least 5 years in performance and rewards.
• Experience supporting complex reward processes, including market benchmarking, reward analysis, fixed pay review, variable pay, bonus funding, pay adjustments, target bonus and reward governance.
• Experience partnering with senior business leaders, HR Business Partners and business stakeholders.
• Experience preparing reward analysis, committee materials or stakeholder packs for senior review.
• Preferred: experience across global or regional teams, multiple jurisdictions and complex matrixed environments.

Required skills
