Welding Engineer – Offshore Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Welding Engineer to lead welding activities on complex offshore and marine projects across Singapore. The role involves planning, executing, monitoring and controlling welding work to meet project specifications, international codes and classification society requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all welding engineering activities throughout project execution.
• Develop, review, approve and maintain WPS, PQR, WPQ and related procedures.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications, classification society rules and international welding codes.
• Provide technical guidance to construction, QA/QC, engineering and fabrication teams.
• Review and approve welding procedures for carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, super‑duplex and nickel alloys.
• Coordinate qualification testing and monitor welder performance.
• Support fabrication teams during production and resolve welding‑related issues.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in offshore fabrication and marine construction.
• Strong background in welding engineering, quality management and procedure qualification.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and act as a liaison between engineering, construction and clients.
• Familiarity with EPCIC projects such as FPSO, FSO, FLNG, topside modules and subsea systems.

Required skills

• Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) development and approval.
• Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) and Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ) management.
• Qualification testing for carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, super‑duplex and nickel alloys.
• Knowledge of international welding codes (ASME, API, ISO) and classification society requirements.
• Experience with welder qualification programs and performance monitoring.
