Accountant – 12‑Month Contract in Singapore

About the role

Our client, a respected not‑for‑profit international organisation, is looking for an Accountant to join its Singapore finance team on a 12‑month contract. Working closely with the Finance Lead, you will support the full financial reporting cycle, from month‑end close to year‑end audit coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual financial statements, fund accounts, supporting schedules and note disclosures.
• Execute month‑end closing tasks including bank and sub‑ledger reconciliations, accruals, depreciation, lease accounting and completeness checks.
• Assist with year‑end closing through finalisation and signing of the financial statements.
• Compile audit schedules, reconciliations and documentation for interim and final external audits.
• Maintain the audit deliverables list and coordinate timely responses to auditor queries.
• Document accounting procedures and contribute to the finance team’s process playbook.
• Perform reconciliations and data checks in Workday, prepare accounting entries and flag discrepancies.
• Support other finance and accounting tasks related to the annual reporting cycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting or audit experience.
• External audit experience, preferably with a recognised accounting firm; Big Four experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation, closing activities and external audit requirements.
• Excellent analytical accuracy, attention to detail and ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with finance colleagues, auditors and stakeholders.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Eligibility to work in Singapore (citizen or permanent resident).
