Accountant – Financial Reporting & Analysis

About the role

As an Accountant at Wesco, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing key financial statements, and supporting the finance team with analysis and reporting. You will work closely with business units and the controller group to ensure data integrity and compliance with accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries and document business transactions.
• Prepare profit and loss statements, monthly closing reports, and cost accounting reports.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts with detailed supporting documentation.
• Maintain and implement accounting control procedures and ensure adherence to GAAP and SOX standards.
• Analyze budgets, expenditures, and financial trends, providing recommendations for cost control.
• Interact with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit processes.
• Input financial data and generate reports using the company’s automated financial systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of accounting experience; 3 years preferred.
• Working knowledge of Oracle Financials module is preferred.
• Understanding of federal, state, and local regulations, accounting theory, and financial record‑keeping practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to meet deadlines.
