Accounting Intern (Finance Reporting & Audit Support)

About the role

UPS Global Accounting Centre (GAC) is looking for two motivated interns for a 4-month internship in the second half of 2026. The role offers hands-on experience in financial reporting, audit processes and regional accounting projects within an international environment, working alongside experienced finance professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of Workiva, a cloud-based platform for financial and regulatory reporting
• Help prepare audited financial statements, Board reports and XBRL tagging in line with regulatory requirements
• Contribute to data integration by consolidating information from Oracle Cloud, spreadsheets and external databases
• Support interim audit testing for Japan and APAC entities and work with internal teams and external auditors on audit preparation and execution
• Support the month-end close review, variance analysis and financial commentary
• Assist in converting Japan entities' financials from US GAAP to J-GAAP and support early adoption of the J-GAAP IFRS-aligned lease accounting standards

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field at an accredited institution in Singapore
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, audit processes or regulatory requirements
• Understanding of internal controls; prior automation-related project experience preferred
• Proactive, detail-oriented and willing to learn in a collaborative environment

Required skills

• Aptitude for ERP systems and financial reporting platforms
• Strong Excel skills, with exposure to financial variance analysis and data analytics
• English communication and presentation skills; knowledge of Chinese or Japanese is a plus
