Accounting Manager (Fleet Accounts)

About the role

The Accounting Manager will lead the Vessel Accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely OPEX reporting for a fleet of vessels across multiple entities. This role acts as the primary liaison between ship owners, principals, and internal departments to safeguard financial integrity and fund adequacy.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly OPEX reports in owners' format for all assigned vessels.
• Maintain strong relationships and communication with principals, ship owners, and the technical team.
• Coordinate with other departments to gather reporting data, resolve exceptions, and monitor weekly fund status.
• Review principals' fund positions, advise senior management of potential deficits, and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead business transformation initiatives for the accounting function.
• Coach and supervise finance staff, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and reporting regulations.
• Analyze financial reports, schedules, and reconciliations for accuracy.
• Oversee administrative functions such as recruitment, staff allocation, and training needs.
• Attend owner/principal meetings, liaise with external auditors, and prepare annual internal and external audit documentation.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification (CA, CPA, CMA, ACCA) is an advantage.
• 6‑8 years of relevant finance or accounting experience, including financial reporting, audit, and vessel accounting.
• Experience in a Big 4 audit firm, listed company, maritime or ship‑management environment is preferred.
• Good working knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (International) and statutory requirements.
