Adjunct Lecturer - Veterinary Technology / Veterinary Wellness Care

About the role

Temasek Polytechnic is seeking experienced and passionate professionals to join its team as Adjunct Lecturers for the part-time Diploma in Applied Science (Veterinary Technology) and the Specialist Diploma in Veterinary Wellness Care. You will teach one or more of the listed subject areas, such as Animal Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Animal Nutrition, Herbal Medicine and Nutraceuticals in Veterinary Care, Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, Animal Behaviour and Enrichment, Clinical Veterinary Nursing, Surgical Nursing and Anaesthesia, Diagnostic and Laboratory Techniques, Professional Practices, and Emergency, Medical and Surgical Nursing.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials and practical/practicum sessions, in person or online.
• Teach one to two weekday evenings per week (7:00 PM - 10:00 PM) or Saturdays (before 6:00 PM) during the teaching period.
• Facilitate synchronous and asynchronous learning by preparing lesson materials, recording lectures and creating online assessments.
• Design, develop and review subject content, set and mark assessments and enter results on time.
• Provide academic guidance and support to students on the subject matter.
• Take part in subject review discussions with the Subject Leader at the end of the semester.

Required profile

• Qualification and relevant expertise in at least one of the listed subject areas.
• At least 2 years of industry experience in the veterinary sector, with hands-on involvement in clinical practice, animal rehabilitation, nutrition or wellness care.
• Proficiency in handling and delivering veterinary care to animals, especially companion animals and/or exotic species.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine interest in mentoring and engaging adult learners.
• Experience in adult education, training delivery or instructional design is an advantage; experience developing e-learning materials or using digital learning tools is an added benefit.
