Aerospace MRO Technician

About the role

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is looking for an Aerospace Technician to work on-site at its Changi facility. The technician performs overhaul, rework, repair and associated operations on aircraft equipment and components, working independently and as part of a team to meet high standards of quality, safety and output.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical and electronics diagnostics, repairs and troubleshooting on aircraft equipment.
• Rework and reflow faulty electronic cards so they become serviceable.
• Improve troubleshooting methods to shorten repair turnaround time.
• Assemble, disassemble, clean, inspect, troubleshoot and test according to the Component Maintenance Manual.
• Resolve issues promptly and keep repair cost estimates accurate.
• Work at cell level to meet the repair schedule.
• Follow the Quality Management System (e.g. AS9110C / Airworthiness Part 145).
• Use common measuring tools such as torque wrench, calipers, micrometers, bore and depth gauges.
• Comply with EHS policies, US and Singapore export control regulations, and local corporate requirements on ethics, EHS and international trade compliance.
• Take part in process improvement and EHS activities.

Required profile

• NITEC, Higher NITEC or Diploma in Engineering (Electronics, Electrical or Avionics).
• Ability to read electronic schematic diagrams and diagnose and troubleshoot.
• Experience in electronic board soldering and assembly.
• Experience with electronics and electrical testing equipment such as multimeters and clamp meters.
• Ability to read technical manuals, technical orders, drawings and specifications.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Soldering and assembly of electronic boards.
• Use of multimeter, clamp meter and other test equipment.
• IPC-A-610, IPC-J-Std-001 and IPC-7711/7721 knowledge is an advantage.
• CAAS/EASA air legislation papers (L12/L11/M10) or similar qualifications are an advantage.
• Computer literacy; SAP knowledge preferred.
