AI / ML Specialist – 12‑month contract

About the role

We are seeking an AI/ML Specialist on a 12‑month contract to design, develop, and deploy advanced AI solutions that solve complex business challenges. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to apply cutting‑edge techniques that enhance products, optimise operations, and improve customer experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement highly scalable AI/ML solutions using Generative AI, personalization, image/speech recognition, recommendation, and time‑series forecasting.
• Own end‑to‑end model development: problem definition, data collection, feature engineering, training, validation, and production deployment.
• Research and evaluate the latest academic work and emerging techniques to unlock new capabilities.
• Define and execute deployment strategies on cloud infrastructure, ensuring performance, reliability and scalability.
• Drive technical designs, participate in architecture discussions and conduct design reviews.
• Maintain code quality, reliability and CI/CD integration across the AI/ML portfolio.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior team members and promote best engineering practices.
• Participate in business and technical forums, contributing thought leadership to AI/ML strategy.

Required profile

• PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or a related quantitative discipline.
• Demonstrated research background with publications or patents (highly desirable).
• Extensive hands‑on experience delivering production‑scale AI/ML solutions at enterprise level.
• Deep expertise in at least one domain such as Generative AI, deep learning, speech recognition, multimodal LLMs, reinforcement learning, optimisation, information retrieval, recommendation systems, Bayesian inference or advanced time‑series forecasting.
