Air Freight Operations Assistant

About the role

The Air Freight Operations Assistant supports end‑to‑end export shipments, ensuring timely bookings, accurate documentation, and smooth coordination with airlines, customers, and internal teams. This position operates in a fast‑paced logistics environment and requires strong attention to detail and effective communication.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in handling air freight export shipments from booking to final departure.
• Coordinate with airlines, GSA offices, trucking vendors, and warehouses for space booking and cargo movement.
• Prepare and process export documentation such as MAWB, HAWB, commercial invoices, packing lists, and export permits.
• Ensure compliance with airline requirements, IATA regulations, and export customs procedures.
• Submit shipping instructions, confirm flight schedules, and monitor cut‑off times.
• Track shipments, provide status updates, and coordinate customs export clearance.
• Enter shipment details into freight management systems and maintain accurate operational records.
• Resolve operational issues like rollovers, delays, or documentation discrepancies.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
• At least 2 years of experience in air freight forwarding or export operations (preferred, but candidates without experience are also considered).
• Basic knowledge of air freight export processes, Incoterms, and IATA regulations.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet flight cut‑off times.
