Air Logistics Gateway Operations Specialist

About the role

As a member of Kuehne+Nagel’s Freight Forwarding team, you will be responsible for operating a local air logistics gateway. You will manage procured capacity, optimise cargo flows and ensure commercial performance while meeting service level agreements for customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Utilise and manage procured fixed capacity and procure spot capacity to meet customer SLAs.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound freight, aligning with local ground transportation teams.
• Ensure operations comply with carrier, security and safety regulations.
• Drive efficiency through automation, standardisation and digital tools.
• Collaborate with global X‑Community and local O‑team to improve processes and cargo flow.
• Support CCL, OCC and development teams on business implementations and RFQs.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and negotiation abilities.
• Resilience under stress and high accountability in decision‑making.
• Ability to recognise industry trends and turn them into profitable opportunities.
• In‑depth knowledge of air freight and airport processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience in sourcing and procurement techniques.
• Operational knowledge of air freight handling.
