Analytical Chemist – Emissions Analyst (12‑Month Contract)

About the role

The Emissions Analyst in the Global Sustainability Team is a subject‑matter expert in gas analysis using advanced spectroscopy. Based in Singapore, this 12‑month contract role leads emissions data collection and analysis across R&D and manufacturing sites, supporting the company’s environmental performance goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead emissions data collection at global R&D and manufacturing sites using FTIR, QMS and other advanced analytical technologies.
• Perform Destruction or Removal Efficiency (DRE) measurements for abatement systems in cleanroom environments with mobile FTIR equipment.
• Analyze FTIR data, prepare detailed DRE measurement reports, and present findings to the Emissions Analysis Leadership Team.
• Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot FTIR and related instruments in collaboration with equipment suppliers.
• Ensure data accuracy, validation and compliance with internal and industry standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, facilities and sustainability teams to support emissions monitoring and improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Analytical Chemistry or a related discipline.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on experience with FTIR and/or other spectroscopy technologies.
• Ability to work extended periods in cleanroom environments and handle mobile measurement equipment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and effective communication for presenting technical data to stakeholders.

Required skills

• FTIR spectroscopy and data analysis.
• Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry (QMS).
• Macro writing or automation tools.
• Familiarity with IPCC 2019 Tier 2c methodology.
• Knowledge of U.S. EPA DRE measurement protocols.
• Instrument maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting.
