Android Development Engineer

About the role

Newland NPT is looking for an experienced Android Development Engineer to join its Singapore hub. You will work closely with the Product Technology Center in China and regional teams to create innovative payment applications and terminal solutions for the APAC market.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Android applications, integrate payment SDKs, and build transaction processing modules tailored to local markets.
• Design scalable, high‑performance architectures, write clean code, conduct unit testing, and deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Collaborate with product, testing, operations, and engineering teams across HQ and APAC to translate market requirements into technical implementations.
• Prepare and keep up‑to‑date technical documentation, including design specifications, implementation guides, and test reports.
• Monitor industry trends, local regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure product readiness across APAC.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• At least 4 years of hands‑on Android development experience, preferably in FinTech, POS or payment‑terminal projects.
• Fluent in English and Chinese (written and spoken).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities, with a self‑motivated, independent work style.
