APAC Regulatory Counsel

About the role

Payoneer is seeking an APAC Regulatory Counsel to lead legal advice on payments and financial‑services regulations across the Asia‑Pacific region and to support regulatory initiatives in the Middle East. The role is based in Singapore and reports to the Senior Director, Regulatory Counsel – APAC.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to evaluate and manage complex payments and financial‑services regulatory matters across APAC jurisdictions, with additional support for the Middle East.
• Support regional compliance teams in building and maintaining strong relationships with regulators.
• Manage regulatory licensing, authorisation, and supervisory matters, including preparation for and engagement with regulators for licence applications.
• Research, analyse, and monitor rapidly evolving regulations in multiple markets and advise on their impact on Payoneer’s strategic goals.
• Liaise with outside counsel across the region.
• Assist business, marketing and product teams in developing new services while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Support senior regulatory leaders in shaping Payoneer’s regulatory and public‑policy strategy.

Required profile

• Eligible to work and live in Singapore.
• Admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore or another common‑law jurisdiction (e.g., UK, Australia, Hong Kong) and eligible to work in‑house in Singapore.
• At least 4–5 years of legal experience focused on financial services, payments, fintech or regulatory advisory.
• Payments‑industry experience preferred.
• Experience working directly with regulators or on licensing matters is an advantage.
• Cross‑border regulatory project experience, particularly in the Middle East, is a plus.
