Application & Control Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Application & Control Engineer to design, develop and troubleshoot electrical and control systems for factory automation and smart‑factory equipment. The role involves working on customised machines, AI platforms and collaborative robotics for our customers on Jurong Island.

Key responsibilities

• Design and detail electrical control systems for factory automation, smart‑factory technologies and custom equipment.
• Develop PLC programs (ladder, function block, structured text) and, where required, Industrial PC applications using C++ or Visual Basic.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical design teams to translate project proposals into control system specifications.
• Lead in‑house electrical staff and external vendors throughout machine assembly, alignment, testing and commissioning at the plant or customer sites.
• Conduct technical meetings with design teams and customers to review control requirements and specifications.
• Participate in cross‑disciplinary projects to create data‑driven solutions, integrate AI and robotics for advanced manufacturing.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in machine electrical control design and PLC programming.
• Ability to lead technical teams and coordinate with vendors.
• Strong problem‑solving skills for troubleshooting complex automation systems.

Required skills

• PLC programming – ladder, function block, structured text.
• Industrial PC programming – C++, Visual Basic.
• Robotics programming and commissioning (e.g., UR, MIR collaborative robots) – preferred.
