Application Engineer, Power Systems (SEA)

About the role

Rehlko, a global leader in energy resilience with a product range covering engines, generators, power conversion, UPS systems, EV components, microgrid controls and clean energy solutions, is looking for an Application Engineer for its Southeast Asia business. The role provides pre-sales technical support to customers, distributors and dealers, ensuring proposed solutions meet local authority requirements and tender specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate project requirements received from sales and distributors for non-standard systems via RFQs, and support pre-sales enquiries.
• Perform project feasibility studies, propose alternative solutions and handle specification deviations from inquiry documents.
• Work on project tender specifications and attend project sites for surveys and integration proposals.
• Lead discussions with inquirers on specification changes, especially installation design, exhaust and fuel supply systems.
• Review requests for non-standard gensets and equipment to confirm they are technically and commercially viable.
• Respond promptly to technical pre-sales enquiries and generate project cost estimates, including non-standard products, M&E works and solutions selling.
• Work with the engineering team and the Senior IS Engineer to prepare quotations for the sales team.
• Collaborate with supply chain and supporting vendors on pre-sales development of projects and non-standard systems.
• Provide pre-sales technical support to distributors and dealers, and accept ownership of sales targets.
• Maintain the ISO system pertaining to IS.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a diploma with 4 years of relevant technical solution expertise in a comparable role.
• Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Able to manage and prioritise work.
