Architectural Designer

About the role

10 Design, part of Egis Group, is an international architecture and master planning practice with offices in several cities including Singapore. It is looking for an Architectural Designer who will help create designs that fit the company's design philosophy and convey the building's design intent through all required documentation, taking into account the project brief, site, best architectural practice and local codes and approval authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Concept stage: research the project, study local codes, prepare detailed sketches and layouts, investigate client brief options, and help prepare presentation material.
• Schematic design: coordinate with engineers on MEP and structural requirements, submit drawings for local authority approval, and check concept design for practicality and buildability.
• Detail design: prepare drawings and specifications, develop exteriors, facades and ornamental work, and coordinate with MEP, structural engineers, sub-consultants and the project coordinator.
• Tender and contract stages: respond to tender queries, update drawings, check design intent before passing to the contractor, and coordinate with the post-contract team and make site visits where needed.
• Maintain cost awareness, follow company QA/QC procedures, archive documents, and keep up with construction and design trends through CPD.

Required profile

• Degree in Architecture, Urban Design or equivalent.
• At least 4 years' experience; residential, mixed-use and hospitality design experience is advantageous.
• Office-based role, occasional travel may be required.
• Enthusiasm for design, proactive problem solving, ability to multi-task, work under pressure and work within a team.
