Assembly Technician

About the role

MKS is looking for an Assembly Technician to build, set up, test and prepare large high-tech machines before they are shipped to customers. It is a hands-on role following step-by-step instructions and using tools to make sure the equipment is safe, accurate and high quality.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical and electrical parts of machines
• Align laser optics and perform machine testing
• Calibrate equipment so it works correctly
• Prepare machines for delivery together with vendors
• Check materials and ensure production schedules are met
• Perform basic maintenance to keep equipment in good condition
• Use simple testing tools to check and fix problems
• Work on more than one type of machine after training

Required profile

• Higher NITEC or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering
• Enjoys hands-on technical work and building machines
• Able to work independently after training
• Careful, safety-minded and takes pride in quality work
• Willing to learn new skills and take on more responsibility
• Comfortable working overtime and rotating or night shifts
• Experience in a similar role is a plus; training is provided
