Assistant Cook (Contract)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Cook to join our kitchen team at Al Hadi Bistro. This contract role offers hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced restaurant environment, supporting chefs in delivering high‑quality dishes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and cooking food items according to restaurant recipes and standards.
• Wash, cut, peel, measure, and portion ingredients as required.
• Support chefs and cooks in daily kitchen operations and food preparation activities.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, workstations, and food preparation areas.
• Help receive, store, and organize food ingredients and kitchen supplies.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures at all times.
• Monitor ingredient levels and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.
• Participate in kitchen opening and closing duties and perform other kitchen‑related tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, or restaurant environments is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
• Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Physically fit, able to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen‑related tasks.
