Assistant Cook

About the role

The Assistant Cook supports the kitchen team by keeping the work area clean, preparing ingredients, and ensuring the Cook has everything needed to run the kitchen efficiently. This full‑time, onsite position is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast‑paced food‑service environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Cook with food preparation tasks such as cleaning, cutting, chopping, and peeling ingredients.
• Clean and sanitise food preparation areas in line with hygiene and safety standards.
• Wash, disinfect, and store kitchen utensils, equipment, and cookware.
• Receive, weigh, and store food supplies and manage inventory.
• Operate kitchen appliances and tools including knives, mixers, cutters, and ovens.
• Maintain an organised storeroom and assist with unloading deliveries.
• Contribute to menu development and improve existing dishes.
• Monitor kitchen expenses, food costs, and staffing within budget limits.

Required profile

• Ability to work shift patterns, including evenings and weekends.
• Experience or willingness to prepare North Indian cuisine.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and food‑safety standards.
