Assistant Cook

About the role

The Assistant Cook supports the kitchen team by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the Cook has everything needed for smooth operations. This full‑time, on‑site position is ideal for candidates with a professional level of culinary experience who can work shifts and handle North Indian cuisine.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Cook with food preparation tasks such as cleaning, cutting, chopping, and peeling ingredients.
• Clean and sanitise food preparation areas in line with hygiene and health‑safety standards.
• Wash, disinfect, and store cooking utensils and equipment properly.
• Buy, weigh, and store ingredients and food supplies.
• Operate kitchen appliances and tools including cutters, knives, mixers, and ovens.
• Manage inventory, unload supplies, and organise the storeroom.
• Participate in programmes aimed at improving service quality and employee productivity.
• Maintain clean work areas, utensils, and equipment.
• Develop new menu items and improvise existing ones while staying within budgetary limits.

Required profile

• Professional level experience in a kitchen environment.
• Ability to work shift schedules.
• Capability to cook North Indian dishes.

Required skills

• Operation of kitchen appliances: cutters, knives, mixers, ovens.
• Food preparation techniques: cleaning, cutting, chopping, peeling.
• Inventory management and stock handling.
