Assistant Director, Communications & Marketing

About the role

IMDA's Communications & Marketing Division is recruiting an Assistant Director to lead a team in Singapore. The role covers strategic communications, executive communications, corporate communications, media engagement and press office functions, with a focus on the infocomm and media industry.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of the strategic communications framework, key narratives and integrated comms plans, advise internal teams on alignment of speeches and materials, and oversee corporate identity guidelines and data-driven message testing
• Develop and run thought leadership initiatives and executive communications, including speeches and presentations, and identify high-impact speaking platforms
• Plan and manage corporate publications such as the Annual Report, impact e-newsletter and infographics, and appoint and manage creative, PR and other agencies
• Oversee media engagement strategy, media queries, crisis management, proactive pitching and story bank, and handle foreign media visits to Singapore

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in public relations, government communications, public affairs or journalism
• Minimum 5 years of team and staff management experience
• Experience pitching to journalists, especially in tech, media, manpower and business beats, is a plus
• Ability to translate business unit needs into strategic communications plans
• Experience managing third-party agencies, vendors and suppliers
• Interest in the tech and media industry
