Assistant Director (Conflict of Interest) - Tech Development & Commercialisation

About the role

SingHealth is looking for an experienced professional to establish and lead a dedicated Conflict of Interest Unit within its Technology Development & Commercialisation (TD&C) team. The role supports healthcare professionals in their research, innovation and industry partnerships by setting up governance for complex conflict of interest matters. It is a 2-year contract.

Key responsibilities

• Establish comprehensive frameworks and processes to identify, assess and manage conflict of interest matters across the institution
• Provide expert guidance to SingHealth leadership and staff on disclosures, regulations and policies, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements
• Analyse complex cases, develop management plans and review external contracts involving SingHealth staff
• Build strong relationships with clinicians, researchers and industry partners to promote awareness of conflict-of-interest matters
• Facilitate compliant research and innovation activities

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws or Bachelor of Science in a relevant scientific or engineering field
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in an academic and/or industrial environment involving research grant administration and contract and/or project management
• Knowledge and understanding of contract and corporate law principles
• Ability to work assertively with key stakeholders and build business relationships and partnerships
• Self-starter with initiative, able to work in a team and with stakeholders in the ecosystem
• Excellent interpersonal communication, organisational and administrative skills
