Assistant Director, NSC Building Project (2-year contract)

About the role

Science Centre Singapore is looking for a highly organised and dependable person to join its Management Team as Assistant Director for the New Science Centre (NSC) building project. The role covers all phases of the construction lifecycle, from initiation to completion, and is a two-year contract.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage the entire development work for the NSC building, including handover and defect rectification.
• Ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
• Ensure safety standards and procedures are met.
• Monitor the building process and ensure compliance with the Instructure Manual (IM), safety and security standards.
• Prepare contingency plans for possible project delays.
• Work alongside the Public Project team from JTC, appointed as project managers by the government, which provides the technical expertise for the project.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Building and Project Management, or equivalent professional qualifications.
• Good track record of completing building projects.
• At least 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in Building and Project Management, including at least 4 years in a managerial and supervisory capacity.
• Good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle multiple demands and emergencies outside normal working hours.
• Team leader with initiative, professionalism and a results-oriented approach.
