Assistant Director / Senior Assistant Director – Shared Services HR

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated leader to head the People Services team within NTU Shared Services, Human Resources. The role is pivotal in delivering core HR services efficiently and enhancing the overall employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 15 HR professionals, fostering a collaborative, high‑performance culture.
• Oversee day‑to‑day administration of payroll, onboarding, work‑pass processing, benefits, awards, and L&D support.
• Ensure accurate, timely payroll processing and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Manage end‑to‑end onboarding to provide a seamless start for new hires.
• Handle work‑pass applications, renewals, and cancellations in line with Ministry of Manpower rules.
• Administer employee benefits, group insurances, and recognition programs.
• Support L&D program logistics, attendance tracking, and record‑keeping.
• Oversee employee HR queries, delivering prompt, accurate responses.
• Identify and implement process standardisation, automation, and efficiency improvements.
• Maintain compliance, internal controls, and reporting standards.
• Collaborate with other HR teams, department heads, and external vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional HR certification is a plus.
• Extensive experience in HR operations and service delivery, including client support, case management, and change initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of work‑pass regulations, the Employment Act, and local immigration requirements.
