Assistant Finance Controller – SGX Listed

About the role

The client, a market leader listed on the SGX, is seeking a hands‑on Assistant Finance Controller to support group finance operations across its domestic business. Reporting to senior leadership, the role will combine financial consolidation, reporting and internal control responsibilities while driving process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review group financial statements, consolidation packs and management reports in line with SGX and accounting standards.
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis process for the domestic operations.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic and operational decisions.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors, banks, tax advisors and other external stakeholders.
• Participate in cross‑functional projects and strategic initiatives as required.

Required profile

• Degree qualified with a background in external audit.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial finance, preferably in FMCG, retail, F&B or other high‑volume transaction environments.
• Proven experience managing financial consolidation, group reporting and accounting.
• Team‑leadership experience managing more than 10 direct and indirect staff.
• Hands‑on, proactive, flexible and able to drive manual‑process improvements.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with SGX reporting (advantageous).
