Assistant Manager, AIO Value Driven Outcomes Office (2 Years Contract)

About the role

This Assistant Manager position sits in the Value Driven Outcomes (VDO) office and covers research projects (20%) and operational analytical work (80%). It is a two-year contract. The research side involves working with healthcare professionals to turn their ideas into studies, analysing and interpreting healthcare data with statistical tools and machine learning, and presenting findings through conference and journal publications. The operational side covers assigned VDO office work such as descriptive analytics and quality improvement projects, plus related administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with stakeholders to identify problems and formulate research strategies or quality improvement projects
• Assess and improve data sources and data-gathering methods
• Build algorithms and design experiments to merge, manage and interrogate data
• Use machine learning and statistical techniques to solve problems
• Communicate complex data insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
• Represent the organisation at external events and conferences
• Build and maintain client relationships

Required profile

• PhD and/or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science or a relevant discipline, with at least 2 years of related experience
• Experience in medical research is a plus
• Expertise in health services research and applied statistics, including study design, data analysis and outcome evaluation
• Background in data-driven solutions for healthcare improvement, including AI methods such as machine learning and predictive modelling
• Proven ability to manage projects independently from concept to implementation
• Excellent stakeholder management, multitasking, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
