Assistant Manager Finance, Singapore

About the role

Commonwealth Bank's Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) Finance Singapore is responsible for the end-to-end finance function for CBA Singapore's operations, covering financial control, regulatory reporting, management reporting, statutory reporting and taxation across all business units. The team is made up of experienced accountants and reports to the Senior Finance Manager, Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with tax matters, including the preparation of income tax and GST returns.
• Prepare and support MAS regulatory reporting requirements and monitor regulatory requirements and reporting obligations daily.
• Oversee the Accounts Payable and staff expense claims processes.
• Manage month-end financial close activities, including balance sheet substantiation.
• Support the Group consolidation and financial reporting process.
• Identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency, strengthen controls and add value to the business.

Required profile

• At least 3-5 years of experience in taxation, including practical knowledge of income tax and GST requirements.
• Experience in financial and regulatory reporting is advantageous.
• Bachelor degree in Finance or a relevant discipline; a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CA) is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with SQL, VBA and/or Power BI is highly regarded.
