Assistant Manager, Laboratory Operations

About the role

The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Nanyang Technological University seeks an Assistant Manager to support laboratory operations within the Thermofluids and Marine cluster, including the Seatrium New Energy Lab. This role ensures smooth delivery of undergraduate lab sessions and assists researchers in achieving their academic and research objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Support full‑time and part‑time lab teaching activities throughout the academic year.
• Supervise students in risk assessments, safety training modules, and SOP compliance under the workplace safety and health management system.
• Process lab requisitions via SAP Ariba on behalf of faculty and researchers.
• Maintain and certify laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with local regulations and OEM requirements.
• Manage lab assets, keeping accurate records and accountability.
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring all lab records are up‑to‑date.

Required profile

• Degree in an engineering discipline.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in laboratory or technical operations.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001, risk management, and Singapore WSH regulations.
• Ability to work after office hours to support part‑time classes.
