Assistant Manager / Manager, Business Development and Strategic Partnerships (Innovation)

About the role

This Assistant Manager / Manager role sits within the Innovation Division of the Enterprise Transformation & Innovation Group (ETIG) at IMDA. ETIG leads digital transformation and innovation ecosystems across Singapore's tech landscape, working with public and private sectors to accelerate technology adoption and support high-growth companies. You will drive business development and strategic partnerships for IMDA's flagship innovation initiatives, including the Open Innovation Platform (OIP) and the PIXEL Innovation Hub. It is an industry-facing sales role focused on corporate engagement and partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Generate, qualify and cultivate corporate leads, converting corporates looking to drive business innovation within their organisations
• Act as the first point of contact for inbound leads and referrals, diagnosing corporates' innovation needs
• Keep up with industry trends and customer drivers to follow up on opportunities and enable conversion
• Build relationships with corporates and multipliers such as government agencies and trade associations, and support direct matches with the technology solvers base
• Identify and engage existing or new strategic partners to secure more corporate leads for OIP and develop partner-led programmes

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Communications, Information Technology or a related discipline
• At least 5 years of experience in industry engagement, B2B business development or partnership roles, with immediate and large business networks
• Able to engage external stakeholders across seniority levels and build business networks
• Familiarity with the innovation ecosystem (corporate innovation roles, technology accelerators, incubators) is a plus
