Assistant Manager, Risk & Compliance

About the role

Singapore Pools, a not-for-profit organisation established in 1968 to provide safe and trusted betting and contribute to social causes, is hiring an Assistant Manager, Risk & Compliance. Reporting to the Manager, the incumbent establishes and maintains regulatory compliance frameworks, standards and procedures so the organisation complies with gambling, regulatory, licensing and governance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support compliance activities: document policies, processes and practice notes, and apply understanding of regulations to business processes and IT functions
• Implement assurance plans on a risk-based approach to identify potential non-compliance
• Help establish a privacy governance framework compliant with laws such as the PDPA
• Act as secretariat for the Risk & Governance Committee meetings and coordinate discussions on risk and regulatory matters
• Prepare information for submissions to regulatory authorities and follow up on queries from business units
• Assess compliance of operational and business proposals and build working relations with internal stakeholders and external regulatory teams
• Support compliance projects, including process automation, compliance assurance programmes and programme engagement (planning, vendors, budget, change, risks)

Required profile

• Degree in IT, Engineering, Compliance/Controls or a related field, with around 5-7 years of experience in compliance, internal controls, privacy, IT risk management and/or IT governance
• Strong communicator with excellent written and spoken English and attention to detail
• Ability to assess compliance of business practices against regulatory requirements
• Organised, adaptable and able to work independently under tight deadlines

Required skills

• Knowledge of IT governance, risk management and control frameworks such as COBIT, NIST and ISO 27001
• Good to have: e-commerce or gambling industry experience, regulator interaction experience, privacy or ISO 27001 certifications, and data analytics tools
