Assistant Manager, Strategic Sourcing

About the role

NTU is hiring an Assistant Manager, Strategic Sourcing for its Main Campus. The role covers category management and strategic sourcing, developing category strategies, managing supplier relationships and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for various categories, aligned with NTU's goals, by analysing market trends, identifying growth opportunities and setting performance targets.
• Build strong supplier partnerships: select and onboard suppliers, negotiate contracts, manage performance and foster collaboration and innovation.
• Conduct market research and analysis on pricing trends, supplier capabilities, emerging technologies and the competitive landscape.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on spending analysis, regular communication and joint decisions on the overall sourcing strategy.
• Develop and monitor KPIs such as customer satisfaction and supplier performance, and act on them to optimise category performance.
• Pursue continuous improvement and innovation, including alternative sourcing strategies and awareness of industry trends.
• Identify and mitigate risks across the procurement process and lead the procurement tender process, including the tender roadmap.

Required profile

• Minimum diploma or equivalent qualification, with 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience and sound knowledge of the P2P process.
• Good to have: knowledge of financial systems such as SAP and Ariba.
• Project and time management skills, ability to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, organized and meticulous.
• Able to work well with others and independently with minimal supervision, proactive in learning.
