Assistant Professor – Presidential Young Professor (PYP)

About the role

The Department of Political Science at the National University of Singapore seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor under the Presidential Young Professor (PYP) scheme, starting July 2027. The role is open to scholars across major sub‑fields of political science, including comparative politics, international relations, and public policy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead an innovative research programme using experimental, computational social science, or AI methods.
• Publish high‑impact research in top‑tier political science journals.
• Teach three courses per academic year and supervise graduate students.
• Secure external research funding and contribute to departmental service.
• Engage with interdisciplinary centres such as the Asia Research Institute.

Required profile

• PhD in Political Science or a closely related discipline.
• Early‑career scholar with a strong publication record and clear research agenda.
• Demonstrated ability to employ innovative quantitative or computational methods.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in research and teaching.
