Assistant Robotics Engineer / Robotics Engineer, Digital Synthesis

About the role

Science Centre Singapore is seeking an Assistant Robotics Engineer / Robotics Engineer for its Digital Synthesis department to develop and implement robotics solutions for both the Science Centre Singapore and the New Science Centre. The role offers a clear growth path from hands-on hardware deployment to core robotics software development, working with partners to manage the setup, testing and maintenance of the robot fleet, and assisting with centre-wide events as required.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ROS-based robotics solutions that improve visitor experiences, operational efficiency and educational programmes.
• Cover the full deployment lifecycle, from core software development in perception and navigation to system calibration and automated monitoring.
• Work with partners on the setup, testing and maintenance of the robot fleet.
• Assist with centre-wide events and other duties as required.

Required profile

• Minimum diploma in Engineering.
• Proficiency in C++, Python and ROS2 (or equivalent frameworks).
• Ability to work independently and in a team, including in live operational environments.
• Strong interest in robotics and AI development, and openness to further full-stack development.
• More experienced candidates may be considered for a Senior Robotics Engineer position.

Required skills

• Firmware and software development, Linux environments, and hands-on work with hardware such as LiDARs and IMUs.
• Advantageous: GitHub portfolio, AI or ML experience, SLAM and motion planning expertise, CI/CD pipelines and simulation environments.
