Assistant Vice President – Corporate Tax

About the role

United Overseas Bank (UOB) is seeking a driven Assistant Vice President to join its Tax team. The role focuses on corporate income tax, withholding tax, and tax risk management, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal governance while offering exposure to GST, transfer pricing, and Country‑by‑Country Reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review corporate income tax filings and tax provisions.
• Manage tax reporting requirements and ensure timely regulatory compliance.
• Respond to tax authority queries, audits, and reviews for both corporate income tax and withholding tax.
• Provide guidance on withholding tax matters and assess transaction implications.
• Support implementation and maintenance of tax risk management frameworks and governance standards.
• Collaborate with business and finance teams to deliver tax input on transactions and initiatives.
• Assist with process improvements and automation within the tax function.
• Gain exposure to GST, transfer pricing, and Country‑by‑Country Reporting projects as needed.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as CA, CPA or ACCA preferred.
• Relevant tax experience, preferably in financial services or a Big 4 environment.
• Strong understanding of corporate income tax and withholding tax principles.
• Exposure to GST, transfer pricing or CbCR is advantageous.
