Assistant Vice President - Private Banker

About the role

Barclays is recruiting an Assistant Vice President - Private Banker in Singapore. The role delivers strong sales and business performance by building, developing and maintaining proactive, long-term client relationships, while protecting Barclays' reputation through sound risk decisions within each client's risk profile and the regulatory framework.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow client relationships and acquire new clients, identifying and delivering solutions to a wide range of client needs
• Understand client strategy through regular proactive contact, respond to client and prospect queries and identify long-term commercial opportunities
• Manage operational, reputational, financial crime and credit risk for the portfolio to avoid undue exposure to Barclays
• Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements, the Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays policies and standards
• Refer clients to group colleagues and service groups
• Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development and collaborate with other functions and business divisions
• If leading a team: set objectives, coach employees, appraise performance and determine reward outcomes; otherwise lead collaborative assignments and guide team members
• Consult on complex issues, advise People Leaders on escalated matters, and help develop policies and procedures to strengthen controls
• Analyse data from internal and external sources, communicate complex information and influence stakeholders

Required profile

• Legal right to work in Singapore; applicants holding a Barclays-sponsored visa or requiring sponsorship must declare it
