Assistant/Associate Professor – AI‑Enabled Instructional Design

About the role

The National Institute of Education (NIE) at Nanyang Technological University seeks a tenure‑track Assistant or Associate Professor to lead research and teaching in AI‑enabled instructional design and professional education. The position will strengthen the Learning Sciences & Assessment (LSA) department’s strategic growth in AI‑driven learning design.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead research projects at the intersection of instructional design, adult learning, and artificial intelligence.
• Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in instructional design, learning sciences, and AI‑mediated education.
• Contribute to curriculum development for existing programmes such as the MA in Instructional Design and Technologies and the Doctor of Education.
• Secure external research funding and publish in high‑impact journals.
• Mentor PhD and master’s students and collaborate with interdisciplinary faculty.

Required profile

• PhD in Education, Learning Sciences, Instructional Design, or a closely related field.
• Strong record of scholarly publications and evidence of research potential in AI‑enabled learning environments.
• Demonstrated teaching excellence in higher education or professional education settings.
• Experience with adult learning, workplace learning, or continuing education is highly desirable.
