Associate Chemical Engineer – AI‑Assisted Materials Platform

About the role

Avensys is seeking an Associate Chemical Engineer to support the development of an AI‑assisted recommendation system for materials and molecular analysis. The role blends rule‑based logic with AI‑driven analytics to evaluate scientific constraints, analyse candidate molecules and deliver ranked, explainable recommendations. It is ideal for candidates with strong software engineering abilities and experience in computational chemistry or related exact‑science domains.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design and implementation of polymeric marking solutions, including formulation and application of markers/codes compatible with client processes.
• Conduct and oversee R&D experiments, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Analyse test results and produce detailed technical reports for senior leadership.
• Manage day‑to‑day lab operations: equipment maintenance, material procurement, inventory control, and safety compliance.
• Coordinate proof‑of‑concepts and prototypes with internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in client technology implementation projects, acting as a technical liaison and providing troubleshooting support.

Required profile

• Associate‑level experience in chemical engineering or a closely related field.
• Strong software engineering capabilities and familiarity with computational methods used in chemistry, physics or materials science.
• Hands‑on experience with polymer formulation and laboratory testing.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
