About the role

The Associate Consultant will join the Radiation Oncology Department at NCIS, providing expert clinical care to cancer patients. This senior‑level position involves direct patient consultations, treatment planning, and participation in multidisciplinary tumour boards.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive radiation oncology consultations, assess patients, stage disease, determine treatment intent and obtain informed consent.
  • Develop individualized radiation treatment plans using IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, SRS, IGRT, brachytherapy and adaptive radiotherapy in collaboration with physicists and dosimetrists.
  • Perform target volume delineation and organ‑at‑risk contouring on CT, MRI and PET‑CT images.
  • Supervise treatment delivery, verify parameters, ensure radiation safety compliance and conduct on‑treatment reviews.
  • Manage acute toxicities, coordinate supportive care and handle radiation emergencies with on‑call coverage.
  • Participate actively in tumour board meetings across multiple disease sites.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic medical record system.
  • Contribute to teaching, training and residency programmes for registrars, residents, medical students and allied health professionals.

Required profile

  • Qualified radiation oncologist with subspecialty expertise in one or more disease sites or techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary cancer care team.
  • Commitment to clinical governance, quality assurance and radiation safety regulations.
  • Willingness to engage in teaching, mentorship and research activities.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, SRS, IGRT, brachytherapy and adaptive radiotherapy.
  • Expertise in target volume delineation and organ‑at‑risk contouring using CT, MRI and PET‑CT.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety standards and the Radiation Protection Act.
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.
