Associate Director, Quality Assurance

About the role

Pratt & Whitney Singapore, a global centre of excellence for aircraft engine services, is looking for an Associate Director, Quality Assurance to join its Senior Leadership Team. The role is accountable to the General Manager and the Board, with full responsibility for the company's Quality, Safety and Airworthiness domains, and is based onsite at 61 Seletar Aerospace View.

Key responsibilities

• Steer quality metrics and improvement initiatives, act as the primary authority on quality system matters and strengthen the quality culture, governance and regulatory standing.
• Direct the Quality Management System to comply with multi-jurisdictional airworthiness authorities (CAAS, FAA, CAAC, EASA, JCAB, TCAA, ANAC, etc.) and serve as the main site liaison for regulatory audits and approvals.
• Oversee Airworthiness Maintenance Organization Expositions, Quality Manuals and RSM/QCM procedures, aligned with manufacturer overhaul manuals and service bulletins.
• Lead the Corrective Action Board and champion the Safety Management System (SMS), including root-cause analysis and timely closure of discrepancies and safety reports.
• Manage supplier, subcontractor and specialist provider evaluation and approval, and authorise technician work certifications and new repair capabilities.
• Support NPI activities so new repair capabilities meet airworthiness approval requirements.
• Manage the Materials Lab and Calibration team, and build, mentor and lead a team of quality engineers, inspectors and auditors, including budget, resources, talent development and succession planning.
• Drive digital solutions, IT data analytics and automation to improve QA visibility, track Cost of Poor Quality and reduce cycle times.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Quality Management or equivalent.
• At least 12 years of experience in aerospace MRO, with at least the last 5 years in Quality Assurance, Compliance Monitoring and Internal Auditing.
• Completed SAR145, FAR145, EASA145 and CCAR145 training; preferably passed the CAAS L11/L12/C01 and/or EASA M10 Air Legislation exam.
• Completed ICAO-approved SMS training.
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, ethical standards and strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of SAP, Solumina and CAAS platforms (eSOMS, IFP, FSOP).
• Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS 9110.
• Technical data and workshop processes: inspection, thermal spray, welding, cleaning, NDT, plating, machining and engine manuals.
