Associate Engineer, Equipment Engineering

About the role

GlobalFoundries is a semiconductor manufacturer and is recruiting an Associate Engineer, Equipment Engineering in its Woodlands facility. The role supports and optimizes test operations, maintains equipment and process controls, analyzes performance trends and implements improvements to meet quality, reliability and safety standards. Candidates without prior work experience are welcome to apply, as comprehensive training and development will be provided.

Key responsibilities

• Perform 12-hour shifts to optimize and support the test process operation in the module and meet operational goals
• Develop and implement methods and procedures for test process control and test process improvement for production
• Coordinate with specialists so that work is efficient, module objectives are met and standard operating procedures are followed
• Design and operate sophisticated test equipment and test fixtures, keeping quality high and minimizing defects and failures
• Analyze reports and charts to identify trends and recommend corrective actions
• Work with supplier representatives on quality problems and help run supplier quality improvement programs
• Create process job files for test equipment used in production set-up
• Maintain good housekeeping in the production area, follow safety practices and safeguard tools and equipment
• Carry out all activities safely and responsibly, including handling test fixtures and equipment in a cleanroom environment, and support environmental, health, safety and security requirements

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical and Electronics, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering
• Able to perform 12-hour rotating shifts
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently

Preferred qualifications

• Prior related internship or co-op experience
• Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects or competitions
• Project management skills, including navigating ambiguity
• Strong interest in using AI tools and emerging technologies to improve productivity and decision-making
