Associate Engineer, Process Engineering

About the role

GlobalFoundries is looking for an Associate Engineer in Process Engineering in its Woodlands facility. The role supports process monitoring and SPC activities, as well as quality improvement projects, so that products meet their specifications. Candidates without prior work experience are welcome to apply, and comprehensive training and development is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Perform 12-hour shift duties supporting production, monitoring manufacturing conditions and helping maintain process integrity of production equipment.
• Assist engineers in qualifying and fine-tuning production processes and troubleshoot process issues to reduce lot downtime.
• Monitor process performance with SPC and other statistical tools, spot abnormal trends and support engineers in corrective actions.
• Coordinate with specialists to meet manufacturing and module objectives, and help the engineering team meet uptime and OEE targets.
• Take part in process improvement and QIT programs, and in wafer scrap reduction initiatives.
• Maintain good housekeeping, follow SOPs and carry out CAS per specification, and keep accurate records of line issues.
• Learn basic design-of-experiment concepts and give engineers timely feedback on process issues.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics and Microelectronics Engineering or a related field.
• Able to perform 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Team player; preferred: prior internship or co-op experience, leadership experience, project management skills, and strong interest in digital, automation and AI tools for data analysis.
