Associate, Investment Banking and Advisory - ECM

About the role

Maybank Securities is seeking an Associate to join its regional Investment Banking & Advisory team. The role supports corporate clients across equity capital markets, debt financing, M&A and financial advisory, working across industry groups and product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present client meeting materials covering strategic alternatives, capital market activity and corporate finance topics.
• Manage transaction execution from pitch through closing, leading work streams such as due diligence and document drafting.
• Build, review and edit financial models and valuation analyses.
• Develop junior bankers by delegating tasks and providing mentorship.
• Interface with clients on equity and debt market views and capital structure considerations.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in Equity Capital Markets, or 3 years in equity sales or research.
• Outstanding academic record with a degree in Accountancy, Banking or Finance from a premier university.
• Strong quantitative and technical abilities with high proficiency in corporate finance and financial modelling.
• Drive, enthusiasm, creativity and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication, multitasking and time‑management capabilities.
