Associate Network Engineer – 1 Year Contract

About the role

The Associate Network Engineer will work on‑site at the client location, supporting a mission‑critical wireless network that operates 24/7. This 1‑year contract role involves troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and coordination with vendors to ensure high availability of the wireless infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day operations of Cisco and Aruba wireless solutions, switches, firewalls, captive portals and authentication systems.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues including DNS, DHCP, VLAN routing, captive portal access, OTP login and internet access problems.
• Manage technical escalations and assist with major incident response during service disruptions.
• Perform preventive maintenance, firmware upgrades, patching and technology refresh activities.
• Execute WLC upgrade tasks, AP image updates, failover testing, rollback planning and validation.
• Collaborate with Cisco TAC and Aruba TAC for issue analysis and resolution.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis, incident reporting and recommend preventive actions.
• Support implementation projects such as AP deployments, switch replacements, firewall migrations and SSL certificate updates.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, vendors, contractors and facility teams during maintenance windows.
• Monitor infrastructure health using Catalyst Center, AirWave, SevOne, LogicMonitor and NetAlly.
• Maintain documentation including install plans, diagrams, inventory records and maintenance reports.

Required profile

• Diploma, Higher NITEC or equivalent qualification in IT or a related discipline.
• Basic knowledge of networking, Wi‑Fi, internet connectivity and endpoint devices.
• Experience in Service Desk, Helpdesk, NOC or customer‑support environments is preferred.
• Good communication, coordination and customer‑service skills.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow or other ITSM ticketing systems is advantageous.
