Associate Portfolio Manager – Rates, Bonds and FX

About the role

Neuberger Berman is looking for an Associate Portfolio Manager to support portfolio construction and implementation for its global EMD team, focused on Asian local markets across rates, bonds and FX. The role also involves executing trades, monitoring exposures and working closely with senior portfolio managers.

Key responsibilities

• Support portfolio construction and implementation for the global EMD team, covering Asian local markets across rates, bonds and FX.
• Prepare orders and execute trades on time on electronic and voice platforms such as Bloomberg, MarketAxess, Tradeweb and FXAll, in line with best execution and portfolio/regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor portfolio exposures, performance and underlying risks (duration, curve, FX, liquidity) and recommend adjustments to senior PMs.
• Research interest rate and currency drivers across the region and provide fundamental, valuation and technical intelligence to senior PMs and analysts.
• Analyze and improve global trading processes and promote best practices across the desk.
• Liaise with middle office and operations, support counterparty onboarding and account opening, and build relationships with sell-side trading and sales counterparts.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of experience trading EMD instruments and implementing portfolios, ideally with Asian local markets exposure.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Fluency in English; an additional Asian language is advantageous.
• Visa sponsorship may be available for qualified candidates, subject to company policy and applicable laws.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of rates, bond and FX mechanics, including NDFs, NDIRS/IRS, FX options and local-currency government bonds.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical and quantitative skills, and the ability to prioritize a varied workload under pressure.
• Excellent Bloomberg and Office skills.
• Programming (Python, VBA) and building or running models in rates and FX are a plus.
