Associate Principal Scientist - Lab Operations (Flow Cytometry)

About the role

Q2 Solutions, a clinical trial laboratory services organisation offering end-to-end laboratory services and secure biospecimen and consent management solutions, is hiring an Associate Principal Scientist for its Flow Cytometry lab operations. The role covers the maintenance of lab directories and test codes, oversight of the transition of clinical trial tests from development to global operations, and support of global procedures, quality control and sales activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the lab directory of services and associated global test codes, and support regional cost sheets and price sheets.
• Manage the transition of clinical trial tests from development into global operations, ensuring reliable, secure and documented procedures for new tests.
• Support Scientific Affairs and Sales in acquiring new tests, and support Sales in bid preparation and defence.
• Review and approve quality control reports, initiating remedial or corrective action where needed.
• Act as subject matter expert for assigned lab services, keeping up with scientific advances through training and conferences.
• Ensure safety, environmental, company and departmental policies are understood, followed and documented, and that staff receive appropriate training.
• Build relationships with global scientists and laboratory operations, and communicate clearly with Test Development, Scientific Affairs, Project Management, sponsors, investigators and customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• 3-5 years of relevant industry experience.
• Deep scientific knowledge and troubleshooting ability, with the ability to guide staff and understand operating budgets and their impact on P&L.
• Strong knowledge of relevant procedures, processes and regulations, and of lab safety.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of department systems such as QLIMS, NewLIMS and QNET.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to extract data to measure KPIs.
