Automation Equipment Technician

About the role

Micron is looking for an Automation Equipment Technician to sustain and improve advanced automation equipment in its manufacturing environment. The role requires strong technical skills in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and equipment optimisation, working closely with Shift Operations, Equipment Engineers and tool vendors to ensure equipment reliability and support automation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and maintain automation equipment such as AMHS, ASRS and AGV.
• Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose and fix electro-mechanical equipment.
• Dismantle, adjust, repair and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and technical manuals.
• Carry out preventive maintenance (PM) and calibration to keep equipment within specification.
• Implement equipment modifications as directed by engineering teams.
• Monitor tool performance against shift KPIs for uptime and quality, and prepare detailed shift reports and handovers.
• Run continuous improvement projects and analyse equipment data to recommend advanced troubleshooting and predictive maintenance.
• Take part in root cause analysis and corrective action for recurring issues, and support automation integration projects.
• Keep the workplace clean and safe, and comply with safety standards and EHS protocols.

Required profile

• Preferred: diploma in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics or a related automation discipline.
• Hands-on, safety-first mindset and willingness to work in a fast-paced, shift-based environment.
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including night shift.

Required skills

• Basic PC and software tools for equipment monitoring and reporting.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics and manuals.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
