Automation Industrial Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Automation Industrial Engineer to join its Singapore team. You will work in a dedicated Cobot Lab, designing, building and testing collaborative robot (Cobot) systems that automate the creation of custom packing boxes for high‑volume daily shipments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure and test Cobot solutions for packaging automation, customizing robotic arm setups and end‑of‑arm tools.
• Ensure system reliability, safety and performance in high‑volume environments.
• Support broader warehouse automation projects, including material handling, sorting and inventory workflows.
• Participate in feasibility studies, prototyping and validation testing.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and IT teams, as well as external vendors and partners, to integrate automation systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Robotics, Automation Engineering or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience with robotic arms and end‑of‑arm tooling.
• Exposure to robotics system integration and testing in operational settings.
