Backend Engineer – Serverless BFF for Mobile Commerce

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to own and evolve our Backend‑for‑Frontend (BFF) layer that powers a high‑traffic mobile commerce application. The role is hands‑on, focusing on building, improving and operating serverless backend services that integrate with Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

Key responsibilities

• Own and develop the BFF layer for a high‑traffic mobile commerce platform
• Design and build APIs optimized for mobile client consumption
• Implement and enhance backend services for authentication, catalog, cart, and checkout
• Drive performance, reliability, observability, and security improvements
• Work on caching, payload optimization, cold‑start reduction, and cost efficiency
• Support production operations, incident troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis
• Collaborate with mobile, platform, and SRE teams on architecture, deployments, and service enhancements

Required profile

• 3–5 years of backend engineering experience
• Strong background with Node.js and TypeScript
• Hands‑on experience building and operating AWS serverless applications in production
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, preferably AWS CDK
• Experience with API design, distributed caching, and backend performance optimization
• Understanding of production monitoring, debugging, and observability tools
• Exposure to e‑commerce or high‑traffic consumer platforms is a plus
