Big Data Development Senior Engineer

About the role

Tencent's Corporate Development Group (CDG) is looking for a Big Data Development Senior Engineer. CDG acts as a platform for the company's new business incubation and exploration, supporting areas such as financial technology, advertising and marketing services, and also supports strategic planning, investments, investor relations and corporate communications. The role focuses on the overseas advertising systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data ingestion, data foundation, data warehouse and reporting for overseas advertising systems.
• Drive performance and cost optimization of big data processing platform components within the overseas advertising ecosystem.
• Develop and optimize streaming data pipelines and batch processing workflows for overseas advertising systems.
• Analyze data on the overseas advertising business, identify optimization opportunities for ad performance and provide actionable improvement recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above, with 3+ years of experience in big data development.
• Prior experience in data development for ads, recommendation or search domains is preferred.
• Experience developing or optimizing big data processing platforms is preferred.
• Fluent bilingual Chinese and English to work with stakeholders across China HQ and international markets.
• Proactive, self-driven, resilient under pressure, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of big data architectures.
• Proficiency in Hadoop, Spark, Flink, ClickHouse and other distributed computing frameworks.
• Strong coding skills in at least one language such as Scala, C++, Go or Java.
